Block Moulding Machine
Flexible moulding platform for multiple concrete block products.

A block moulding machine forms the product inside the mould, so the mould decides what you make and how many pieces come off each press. This page explains the QST series mould platform, the real cycle and power range across the models, how mould design sets capacity and wear, and the factors that decide price for buyers in Syria and the Middle East.

What a Block Moulding Machine Does
A block moulding machine forms the block in a mould. The mix is fed into the mould box, vibrated and pressed, and the finished block is released onto a pallet. The mould is the die. It sets the shape, the thickness and how many pieces sit in one press, so choosing the mould is really the product decision that comes before choosing the host.
On the QST series the host is shared across the range and the product changes with the mould. A single platform runs standard bricks, hollow load-bearing and partition blocks, pavers and interlocking blocks, and shaped units such as kerb stones, all by swapping the mould. That is the point of a mould platform: you buy the machine once and add moulds as the catalogue grows, instead of buying a new machine for each product.
- Standard solid bricks and paving bricks
- Hollow load-bearing blocks and partition blocks
- Cement pavers and interlocking blocks
- Kerb stones and shaped concrete products
- Thin-wall and special units where the mould and mix are specified for them
Ask one question before the order is signed: which block will you sell first, and which second. The answer sets the first moulds and the pallet size, and it is far cheaper to settle at order time than to add a mould and a shipping round later.
Block Moulding Machine Models and the Mould Platform
The QST series spans six models on one control and one mould philosophy: imported hydraulic proportional components, an intelligent PLC touch screen, arch-breaking rapid distribution for an even fill, and extended high-efficiency vibration. The models differ by pallet size, pressure and output rather than by the way the mould works.
| Model | Machine size | Pallet size | Installed capacity | Moulding cycle | Vibration force |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| QST6-15 | 9,450 × 3,300 × 2,700 mm | 980 × 680 × 20 mm | 34.4 kW | 15 to 23 s | 68 kN |
| QST8-15 | 9,800 × 3,600 × 2,800 mm | 980 × 860 × 22 mm | 44.9 kW | 15 to 23 s | 95 kN |
| QST1000 | 11,500 × 4,050 × 2,800 mm | 1,100 × 880 × 25 mm | 48.9 kW | 15 to 23 s | 105 kN |
| QST1200 | 11,500 × 4,550 × 2,800 mm | 1,350 × 880 × 25 mm | 57.6 kW | 15 to 25 s | 150 kN |
| QST1500 | 11,500 × 4,550 × 2,800 mm | 1,350 × 1,150 × 30 mm | 69.1 kW | 15 to 23 s | 220 kN |
| QST1800 | 15,500 × 5,500 × 3,200 mm | 1,400 × 1,400 × 30 mm | 104 kW | 15 to 25 s | 280 kN |
Match the model to the largest mould you plan to run. A wide pallet such as the 1,400 × 1,400 mm on the QST1800 holds more pieces per press, which raises output, but it also needs a bigger building and a larger transformer. The QST6-15 at 34.4 kW suits a smaller site that wants a first machine with room to add moulds.
If your first product is a block rather than a paver, the cement block making machine page sets out the QST8-15 and QST6-15 in more detail. For flatter shaped products, see the paver block machine.
Block Moulding Machine Capacity and Mould Behaviour
Capacity on a moulding machine is pieces per mould multiplied by cycles per shift, and the block type sets the pieces per mould. A slim brick mould carries more pieces than a tall hollow block mould, so the same host produces a different figure for each product.
| Model | Reference output | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| QST8-15 | Up to 90,000 standard bricks per 8-hour shift | Standard brick, stable mix, cycle at the fast end |
| QST1200 | Up to 120,960 standard bricks per 8-hour shift | Standard brick, stable mix, cycle at the fast end |
| QST1800 | Up to 220,000 standard bricks per 8-hour shift | Standard brick, stable mix, cycle at the fast end |
| Hollow blocks and pavers | Fewer pieces than brick at the same cycle | Lower pieces per pallet and a heavier piece |
A mould with more cavities raises the pieces per stroke but asks more of the press, so the mould and the host are chosen together. A mould that is too full for the pressure produces blocks that look right and fail in handling, which usually shows up as corner loss rather than as a machine fault.
Moisture, batching accuracy and pallet flow still move the real figure. A machine fed an uneven mix or starved of pallets misses its cycle whatever the mould can carry.
Raw Materials and How They Touch Mould Wear
The machine runs a dry-cast mix of cement, sand, gravel or crushed stone, and water. Fly ash, slag, stone powder and screened construction waste can replace part of the aggregate when the gradation is controlled.
- Cement as the binder
- Sand and gravel or crushed stone as the aggregate
- Optional fly ash, slag and construction waste in place of part of the aggregate
- Water, held consistent, because the dry-cast mix is judged by feel and by the block
Abrasive aggregate wears the mould, so the gradation and the crush of the material decide how often mould wear items are replaced. Even dosing and even mixing slow that wear. A batching machine such as the PL series doses aggregate by weight, and a mixer such as the CMP vertical shaft planetary mixer gives a uniform batch, both of which protect the mould as much as the block.
Main Components and the Mould Itself
A moulding line is the host plus the equipment that keeps it fed and the mould that shapes the product.
- The host, where the mix is filled, vibrated and pressed
- The mould set, which defines shape, thickness and pieces per press
- A batching machine that doses aggregate to a set ratio
- A mixer for a uniform batch
- A pallet feeding machine, such as the QS-1200, cycling in about 13 seconds
- A stacker or cuber that lifts the green blocks into a stack
- The PLC touch screen and control cabinet that run the automatic cycle
The mould is the component a block plant orders most often after pallets, and the two travel together as steel. Treat the mould and the pallet count as part of the machine order rather than as afterthoughts.
What Affects the Price of a Block Moulding Machine
There is no single price for a block moulding machine, because the mould list and the line around the host both change the total.
- The host model and its pallet size
- The number and complexity of moulds, usually the biggest swing after the host
- Whether batching, mixing, pallet feeding and stacking are included
- The stacker or cuber option and its level of automation
- The pallet count, which ships as steel weight
- The site voltage and phase
- Freight, insurance, installation and training
- The spare mould wear items agreed with the order
Build the mould list first, then size the host to it. Two shapes in the first order usually cost less than one shape now and a second mould shipped later. For the wider cost items, see the block making machine price guide.
Installation, Training, Mould Change and Spare Parts
Installation follows the block machine sequence: a level, cured floor, a foundation matched to the footprint, power to the control cabinet, and commissioning on your mix.
- Foundation and floor: levelled and cured before the machine lands
- Commissioning: cycle timing, mould fit and mix tuning on your material
- Training: operator training on the touch screen and on the mould change
- Spare parts: wear list agreed at order, with mould wear items and pallets named
Train on the mould change specifically, because that is the skill that lets one machine cover several products. Agree the mould lead time with the order, since a new shape is built rather than pulled from stock, and keep the small wear items on site if your plant is far from a service point.
Block Moulding Machine Fit for Syria and the Middle East
These machines are specified for the region around voltage, dust and heat. Confirm the site supply and phase so the motors and the control panel arrive built for your grid, and protect the PLC and sensors from constant dust with sealed panels and a routine cleaning schedule.
Local cement and aggregate vary from plant to plant, so the mix and the mould settings are tuned on your material during commissioning. A covered yard keeps the working temperature down through the hot months. Because one moulding platform covers bricks, hollow blocks and pavers, a plant in this region can follow local demand across road work, housing and yard paving without buying a second machine.
To plan the whole plant, review the complete concrete block factory solution or the hollow block production line. Buyers weighing a new machine against a used one should read the block machine for sale guide, and buyers in Syria can check the Syria market page.
